Help & answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything travellers usually ask before hiring a car, jeep or taxi with a driver in Pokhara. Still unsure? Message us on WhatsApp for honest, local advice — no obligation.
Booking
How do I book a car or tour with Pokhara Vehicles?
The fastest way is to message us on WhatsApp at +977 984-6737781 with your dates, route and group size. You can also call the same number or use the booking form on this website. Tell us what you need and we will recommend the right vehicle and send an honest, all-in quote.
Do I need to create an account to book?
No. You do not need an account. A simple WhatsApp message, phone call or the booking form is enough to arrange your trip.
How far in advance should I book?
For airport transfers and city sightseeing, a day or two is usually fine, and we can often help at short notice. For multi-day jeep tours to Muktinath, Mustang or Manang, and during the busy autumn season (October to November), book as early as you can so we can secure the right vehicle and driver.
Can you plan a full itinerary, not just the driving?
Yes. We help plan sensible routes and overnight stops, suggest hotels, and arrange ACAP permits for the Annapurna region. Tell us your interests and travel dates and we will put together a practical day-by-day plan.
Payment & pricing
How is the price worked out?
We quote a clear, all-in price based on your route, distance, number of days and the vehicle you need. It is agreed before you travel — there is no running meter and no haggling on arrival.
What is included in the quote?
A standard private hire includes the vehicle, fuel and the driver. On multi-day trips the driver's meals and accommodation are either included or a small, clearly stated addition. Entry fees, permits, and your own meals and hotels are normally separate, and we spell all of this out in the quote so there are no surprises.
How do I pay, and can I pay in foreign currency?
Payment is agreed in advance. Nepalese Rupees (NPR) are standard; we can advise on paying and on cash needs when you book. Message us on WhatsApp and we will confirm the details for your trip.
Are your fares fixed?
Fares shown on our site and guides are indicative starting points that vary with vehicle, group size and season. We always confirm the exact, all-in price on WhatsApp before you travel.
Vehicles & drivers
Do your vehicles come with a driver?
Yes. Every trip is with an experienced local driver. Self-drive is not offered and is not recommended for visitors in Nepal, where the roads are winding and busy.
Which vehicle should I choose?
A car or sedan suits city tours and airport transfers for one to three people. An SUV or Scorpio jeep is best for rough mountain roads to Muktinath, Manang and trek trailheads. A Toyota Hiace van is ideal for larger groups and families with luggage. We will recommend the right one for your route.
What languages do your drivers speak?
Our drivers speak English and Hindi, so communication is easy throughout your trip.
Are the vehicles safe and well maintained?
Yes. Our cars and jeeps are serviced regularly and kept clean, and our drivers know these mountain roads and highways intimately. Safety and a comfortable ride are our priority.
Routes & tours
What trips and routes do you cover?
We cover airport transfers, Pokhara sightseeing and the Sarangkot sunrise, day trips such as Bandipur, multi-day jeep tours to Muktinath, Jomsom, Marpha and Manang, trek trailhead transfers to Nayapul, Kimche and the Annapurna Base Camp road heads, and long-distance transfers to Kathmandu, Chitwan and Lumbini.
Do I need permits for the mountain routes?
Trips into the Annapurna region — including Muktinath, Jomsom, Marpha, Manang and the trek trailheads — need an ACAP entry permit, and trekkers also need a TIMS card. We can help you arrange the ACAP paperwork before departure.
Can you drop us at a trek trailhead and pick us up when we finish?
Yes. We arrange one-way drop-offs and timed pickups for the Poon Hill, Ghandruk and Annapurna Base Camp trailheads. We can hold your pickup for the exact day you finish and even store a bag of city clothes for you in Pokhara while you trek.
Practical
When is the best time to visit Pokhara?
Autumn (October to November) and spring (March to May) offer the clearest mountain views and most comfortable weather. Winter mornings are cool but often beautifully clear. The monsoon (June to September) is green and quiet but wet and often cloudy over the peaks.
Should I worry about altitude on jeep tours?
Pokhara and the cities are low, but trips to Muktinath (3,710 m), Manang (3,519 m) or Annapurna Base Camp (4,130 m) reach real altitude. We plan these routes with acclimatisation time. Mention any health concerns when booking so we can pace the ascent sensibly.
Do you offer airport pickups at night or early morning?
Yes. We run airport transfers around the clock. Share your flight number and we will track it and be there when you land, even for early or late arrivals.
